I’m very happy to say that things have been getting steadily better at work lately. Things are slowing down in our area, and I feel like I’ve been able to focus on things a lot more. I’m still not really doing what truly love doing, so it still makes it hard to get up and go to work most days, but at least the stress level is going down. It’s pretty amazing at how much stress negatively affects your mood. I literally went from posting out to other positions to feeling fairly decent about my position in the short term. So, if any of you are having a hard time dealing with your current job and are in a tough position that prevents you from leaving anytime soon, consider trying some stress management techniques and see if it improves your outlook. The reduction in stress level has really made my current position much more manageable to where I can see myself staying there until I’m ready to go into business for myself on a full-time basis.

The Carnival of Personal Finance was hosted at Alpha Consumer this week, and our article about the importance of budgeting as a family was included. Great job Kimberly, and thank you very much for hosting. In the Money Hacks Carnival this week, our article about going for what you love early in your career was included. The response to that article has been positive, and it’s nice to see all the people that have gone through a similar experience. The carnival was hosted over at Save and Conquer, so if you haven’t had a chance to see all the great entries, you definitely should.

Here are some articles that caught my eye this week:

I enjoyed the commentary on why high worth professionals don’t manage their money as well over at Can I Get Rich On A Salary. I think the points are valid ones, especially the younger a professional is. One extra point I would add is that it could just be due to being comfortable in their current financial situation. When you reach that level of comfort, you can get lazy sometimes with your financial discipline.

Madison has a great series about creating your own dollar plan over at My Dollar Plan. I really enjoy the hands on examples, and it’s really a nice exercise to help you reach the financial goals that you set out for yourself. Madison consistently provides quality methods of getting your finances in order, and this is a must read.

There’s an unbelievably cool article at Dumb Little Man about how to chill hot beer in 3 minutes. Do I really need to explain why this is worth noting?

And with that, I’d like to wish you all a fun and safe weekend!
