School’s finally over for the semester! I really can’t say enough about how happy that makes me. I’ve been struggling lately to keep up with the website, and it’s been making my frustration grow even higher. Hopefully this will give me a much needed boost of free time that I can spend doing what I enjoy. It seems that each day that goes by I’m thinking of new ideas for websites and online ventures, it’s starting to get hard to manage them all and I will have to take a hard look at choosing 2 or 3 and focusing completely on them. The issue is always about having enough time to devote to each one. Where’s the winning lottery ticket when you need it, right? Anyway, I’m feeling energized with school over for now and ready to kick it into high gear.

The Carnival of Personal Finance was hosted at Lazy Man and Money this week, and our article about money and the NFL draft was an editor’s choice! Great job and thanks for the pick, LM! At the Money Hacks carnival this week, our article on the possible benefits of credit card debt was included over at Money-Hacks.com. This week Know The Ledge was absent from the Festival of Frugality, but it’s still a great weekly read that you should frequent as I do. Thanks again to everybody that hosted, and all the great articles that were submitted. I enjoy dipping into those carnivals for some great reads every week.

Here are a couple of articles that caught my eye this week:

Trent at The Simple Dollar had an interesting commentary on the pros and cons to having a portfolio of credit cards for different purchase types. I chose the opposite method of using only one card for the sake of simplicity. But if you have the discipline and determination to make it work, you could save yourself some money by using different cards where they make sense.

At Get Rich Slowly, JD has a thorough article on advice for new graduates and tips that they can use to truly make the most of their careers.  I think a lot of the content in the article rings true and I have seen it in my own career as I grew in it.  The views that you’re married to your job may have been true back in the day, but times have certainly changed and employees need to take their careers in their own hands to find happiness.

I hope you all have a nice weekend!
