My wife’s birthday is this week, so we’re actually planning to have some nice quality time set aside to go out and let off some steam. I’m really excited about it, as I’ve been slammed with all the various responsibilities that I have on my plate right now. I think some time away from all of that is well deserved and much needed. The other good news is that Tuesday is my last day of class for the semester. I can’t wait, that way I can just focus on my family, work, and my business interests without having to worry about homework or group projects for a while. I still haven’t decided what my plan will be for the fall semester, but we’ll just have to see what happens over the next few months.

The Carnival of Personal Finance was hosted at The Happy Rock this week, and our article about being prepared when opportunities knock was included. Aaron over at On Financial Success did an awesome job with the Festival Of Frugality this week. The paragraph format was very creative, and must’ve taken a lot of work to do. Our article on 5 things that you shouldn’t go cheap on was included and I’ve been really pleased with the response from it. There have been a lot of people that have enjoyed that article, and I appreciate the added exposure Aaron was able to provide it. Lastly, Quest For Four Pillars hosted the Money Hacks carnival this week and had a fun take on “hacking” by making it about some of the most famous movie murderers out there. Our article on staying the course with your investments in a volatile market was included. As always, I want to send a big thank you to those that hosted. There are always so many quality articles in those carnivals, and the participation in them seems to grow every week.

Here are some articles that caught my eye this week:

I really enjoyed Madison’s article about her income diversification over at My Dollar Plan. Diversifying my income is something that I think about constantly, but I haven’t been organized enough to put all the data I have together to analyze it. I think this is a great step, and something that I plan to do (and post about) in the near future. Being able to analyze your income streams is the only way you can truly track your progress and see where you can possibly make improvements to where you want to go.

Dumb Little Man is just one of my favorite sites to read, and I could seriously have it on my Required Reading list just about every week. But this week I particularly like the article about the causes of stress and how to overcome them. With my life being as stressful as it is, I need all the help I can get. The advice is practical and provide easy ways to start changing your behaviors for the better.

Well, I hope you all have a safe and relaxing weekend!
