They say change comes when you least expect it. I say that change comes when you’re just too fed up to take it anymore. I’ve always been a big believer in the theory that we control how happy we are in our lives. Sure, we all have to do things we don’t want to do out of necessity, but we have the power to change what we do as well as our attitude towards what we do. In that way, people often underestimate themselves. What I’ve found through the ups and downs of my life is that when I finally just couldn’t take my current situation anymore was when I actually had the nerve and determination to change it. In retrospect, I’ve noticed that the biggest and most positive changes in my life have come when I was at my lowest.

The biggest difference in those that are successful and those that aren’t is in how they handle adversity. If you let your adversity get the best of you, you’re destined to fail. If you can use your adversity as an opportunity to change and grow, then you can harness that negative and turn it into a long-term positive. The same can be said about your emotions. When times are at their worst, usually your emotions will get the best of you. It’s hard to keep a level head when your life is crumbling around you. Emotions give us a lot of adrenaline and energy, but most times we don’t take advantage of that energy. Having a deeper understanding of these emotions can help you harness that energy to help propel you into a positive change.

When you’ve reached a point in your situation, whether it be with your job or any other aspect, where you simply cannot continue doing what you’re doing that is when you have the greatest opportunity to change it. At your disposal you’ll have all the adversity and emotion that you can ask for. If you can manage to turn them into a positive force, you’ll be surprised at how quickly your luck can change. Luck is simply what happens when you are prepared for an opportunity when it arises. If you can master that craft and use your down times to fuel your next up time you life will consistently and constantly be on the upswing.
